Minor scales explained in 30 seconds.

Trouble making dark/sad melodies? Well, here’s exactly how minor scales work.

To make any natural minor scale all you need is a note to start on, and to remember this pattern:

⚫ ➖ ⚫ ⚫ ➖
⚫ ➖ ⚫ ⚫ ➖
⚫ ➖ ⚫ ...

So basically 1, 2, 1, 2...

Starting on C, it would look like this:

C ➖ D E ➖
F ➖ G A ➖
Bb ➖ C...

And here comes the crazy part... this is also how you make major scales. 🤯

That's right, major and minor scales use the exact same notes.

This is what's called relative major and minor scales.
